Why Govardhan Yatra in Kartik?
The month of Kartik (Damodara Masa) is considered the most sacred month in the Vaishnava calendar. Any devotional service performed during Kartik yields multi-fold spiritual results.
Doing Govardhan Parikrama during this auspicious time cleanses the heart of material attachments and awakens pure love for Sri Radha and Krishna. Govardhan Hill is non-different from Lord Krishna Himself.
